I got the saddest news today of the demise of my abang angkat, Bang Onn.
His brother called me from his handphone, which initially cheered me up tremendously as I thought it was him on the other line.
I was prepared for the worst when I heard of another voice, telling him of the heart-wrenching news.
This was a man, who honoured his word to the last 't', and never said no when a favour was asked of him. He was a shining beacon of example on how to act as a confidant and more so of a friend. He's an icon of coolness and logical thinking, never rash at making decisions, and a man of the highest integrity and principle.
He never thinks twice about going out of his way to help those he cared for, even when it meant sacrificing his convenience and time.
May God put him with those of the highest taqwa and grant him the joy of paradise in the Hereafter.
